Workshops held: If you are interested in learning taiko, we maintain a list, and hold beginner workshops.

From Japan: Kodo Veteran player, Eiichi Saito, presented a taiko workshop in Austin March 1 and 2, 2003. Two days, 2 sessions per day.

The participants came from Austin, Dallas, and Ft. Worth taiko groups. A wonderful time was has by all during the workshop

and at the extra social events. The lunch on Saturday was provided by Mieko Horne and her friends from the Japanese women's club.

The post-workshop party was held at the home of Martha and Bob Boyko. Austin Taiko members wish to thank everyone who

attended for their participation, and for helping make this workshop a success.

From Phoenix: Fushicho Daiko sensei, Esther Vandecar, presented a taiko workshop in Austin to the Austin Taiko performers.

Focus was on preventing injury by proper warm-up and stretching, and we were taught a new song "Ryujin". Vandecar-sensei comes

to Austin about once a year, topics of presention are varied and intensive.
